After years of air drying the wood rough outlines are worked out with chainsaw and angle grinders. The fine modelling is done with smaller hand held tooling machines and wood chisels. The polishing is done mainly by hand. In order to obtain a consistently smooth surface, in some sculptures natural imperfections or cracks are compensated with glue and wood or wood dust from the same piece of wood. Finally, the wood is oiled colourless, whereby the surface can be varied from matt to glossy by a special technique. The sculptures should not be exposed to UV rays and kept in dry, normal temperature room air.
The sculptures made of liquid wood are created on extrusion machines that are used in the commercial sector to manufacture sustainable products.
